"Where's Your Confidence"

Where is your confidence in making proposals to your administration?

I recall reading what Donald Trump wrote in his book, "The Art of the Deal." He said he near feared not making a deal because he always went into the venture with another option in mind.

Sure, he had a Plan A, which was what he wanted the most. However, he wasn't afraid to walk away from the table because he knew he also had Plan B, which was doint it another way.

In a round-a-bout way, I think that's the idea behind God's advice to us in Proverbs 29:25.

"Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but to trust the Lord means safety."

In the chain of command, there are people in authority over you. They have the power to give you what you want for your program, or they can ax it. So, it can be nerve wracking to submit your proposal, or verbally defend what you want. The authorities over you can be a little intimidating with their power.

What God is telling us in the proverb is that he has authority over the authorities over you. God is not only your backup Plan B; He is also your Plan A.

If he wants for you, what you want for you, he will work in the hearts of the people, and you will get it. If he doesn't want for you, and you want for you, might cause some difficulty.

Your responsibility is to get guidance from God, propose what you think is best, work at getting it, but leave the results totally in God's hands.

You know what? He's got great hands!
