| We'd just moved to Florida in April of 1993. My brother had taken his own life. My wife and I were also dealing with our son's attention deficit disorder. Our team chaplain spoke to me about Christ.
In hockey, there is a hierachy. From captain down to back-up goaltender. From management down to coach. I'd say to the chaplain, 'I can't see Jesus like I can see my family. I can't hold him. How can I put my family lower on the hierachy of my life when I love them so much?' When he answered that Jesus wants to share, I finally understood. It wasn't about hierachy. I could do 'share'.
I prayed right there to accept Jesus. When I got home that night after practice, I told my wife I had some news. She told me she had some news. We discovered that apart from each other that day, we'd both made the same decision to follow Jesus!
Difficulties are much easier because of faith. When you feel the Lord's leadership, you can cast your cares on Him.
