You know, you have to take of yourself physically, eat well and get a lot of good sleep. But, me personally, if I meditate on scriptures and get into the presence of God, it's really revitalizing to me. It really is.
And at times when I get tired, I get into the presence of God and I wake up and I feel a lot better. You know it says in His presence there is fullness and joy and there definitely is.

I find if I'm a little irritable off the ice, and you know I get away from God a little bit, I find it's the same thing on the ice. If someone gives me a cheap shot or a dirty play, I'm reacting the way I would off the ice. And as I spend time with God and as anybody does, your whole life would change. If it's in your work, or if it's in the playing field or on the ice. You don't separate those things.

I find that when I get into God's presence and I really meditate on His scripture and I really talk to Him. It carries on right on the ice and it's not something that you have to work on when you get on the ice or when you get into your job. It just comes out of you. And that's what I've learned a little bit lately.

I struggle with God as anybody does. With our profile of our job, you know, sometimes, well a lot of times, people will build you up. And you can get your priorities wrong, you know. You start thinking that you're a little bit better than you are. But you know what, God will always bring you back to where He wants to be No. 1 in our life. And He wants to have that relationship with us. And when we stray from that, He'll always bring us back. He'll bring you back to where it's most important to you.

Right now, I don't have a family, but hockey is very important to me. And when I sway or I stray from Him a little bit, He always seems to be able to captivate me by my hockey, you know. So, I guess the word of encouragement would be to stay in a good relationship with Him. Because He'll bring you back, one way or the other.

Do you struggle with God? God has a plan and a purpose for you life. To find out how you can know God's game plan for you click here.
