So many things in my life, in my roles as father, husband and pro athlete need a commitment, but when I get into the Word I really see what commitment is all about. I see how God wants me to live my life and what he wants me to do in life.

To me commitment is summed up in Colossians 3:23 where it says "whatever we do, do it with all you heart." It doesn't say some of the things we do; it doesn't say half-heartedly, but I says in everything we do, do it with all you heart and for the Lord, not for man.

My plan was go to college injury free, graduate and then play in the NFL, but with those injuries, it was tough getting back mentally and physically. Sometimes when I would get back to the apartment, De De and I would just weep and weep and say "what's going on here?"

But those times brought me closer to the Lord and strengthened my faith in him because we believed if it didn't work out in football, then it was going to work out in life. I learned as a young Christian that everything is not going to be just great all the time, but when we walk with Christ, he helps us through those tough times. And those tough times allow us to grow stronger in our faith.
