| As an assistant with the Miami Hurricanes we had just beaten Oklahoma to win the 1987 NCAA Championship. It was a moment any collegiate coach longs to experience. I had reached a pinnacle of success. I had a great job and a championship, was happily married to a great wife, and had two great children. Yet I remained unfulfilled.
As a child I Had come to view God as one who was bigger than anything or anybody - always there and looking down. But standing at this crossroad I thought there must be more. I met with a team chaplain who listened and spoke of how I could know God in a personal way. I prayed and asked Christ to enter my life.
God has helped me to become content with what I've been given and to trust Him with the details of my life. He has made me more sensitive to the problems of others and, while I'm not perfect, I am in the process of learning what it is to walk with Christ in all that I do.
