Alvin Gentry
Los Angles Clippers, Harlem Globetrotters, Detroit Pistons, Miami Heat

Head Coach

I'm not afraid to tell anybody what I believe in, or the way I see things, or that I'm a Christian.

One thing my wife and I talked about after I was fired (from Miami in '95) was that we were not going to worry about it. I told her, 'You know, we just have to pray about it and know that God will tell us where we need to be next. And if we're supposed to be in the NBA, he'll make it that way.'

Now, a lot of people think that's hogwash. But think that God gives you direction. It must have been 48 hours later that (former Detroit coach) Doug Collins called me and asked me to be an assistant there in Detroit. I don't look at that as coincidence. I don't think there is any such thing as coincidence.

There are going to be trials and tribulations. In James one, it says to consider it pure joy.

What things in your life are you worrying about? Give it to God like Alvin Gentry did. To learn more about God and His plan for your life click here.
