"I've come to understand what it means to pray without ceasing. I used to think that it meant I'd have to sit down and pray all the time. But that's not realistic. I think about God while playing baseball. I talk to God as I just go through my normal day. I can be about to go to bat and say a prayer. During the game, I'm focused on the game, but it's funny how something will happen on the field and I'll say, 'Lord, that's awesome. Thank you.'

James 1:2 in the Bible says to consider it pure joy when you face trials. When I read that verse, I realized it applies to my whole life. The biggest key to being a Christian is perseverance. The Bible is my daily map. It's God's Word. Before I gave my life to Jesus, I just lived the way everyone else did. After I asked God to guide me, I realized that he has given us a guidebook - the Bible. There's so much wisdom in there that you have to read it on a daily basis.

Those days when I'm not able to do Bible study in the morning, it's weird - the emptiness I feel. Bible study and prayer recharge me. They remind me to renew my commitment to Jesus. I need to read the Bible. I love it. I want to be with Jesus every day, and reading God's Word is one way I can do that."
