| I thought my career was over. It looked that way. I was waiting for the doctor to come in and tell me my bad news. It was evident that I was going to have surgery on three bulging disks.
Kathy (wife) had called the night before tests and said, 'You may think I'm crazy because of everything you went through, but through my prayer life I just really believe you're going to be OK, that you're not going to have to have this surgery.'
At the time I thought, 'Well, I thank God for a very supportive wife, I appreciate her being as dedicated and prayerful as she is, but I think she's nuts.
The doctor finally arrived. He shook his head and said, 'You've got every symptom there is of a herniated disk, but the CAT scan and milogram show it's totally normal.'
That a lot of times I really take for granted God's power and what He's able to do. I think it's so much beyond our comprehension how totally awesome He is. Kathy told me one time, 'He made your body, He can heal it.'
Recently, I was reading Psalm 139: 'You knew me in the womb, you've got every day planned out for me before you were born.' It's just amazing to me, still, everyday when I can get up, because I remember days this year when it would take me 15 minutes to get out of bed. God's power is incredible.
