| Through the Baseball Chapel ministry and other Christian ballplayers, I was shown that God created man in His image for His glory.
Once I became a believer in Christ, the Lord changed the priorities in my life. Fortunately, I'm still able to play, and I hope to glorify Him because He's blessed me with the ability."
Brett Butler) taught me a valuable lesson about money in baseball. That if you have a greedy heart, you have to check yourself and admit something's wrong.

You're still looking out for God's kingdom, where people are in need. If you want to have a good year to make more money, your focus may be in the wrong place. But if you are looking for ways to help people and provide for your family, then the condition of your heart is right.
My wife and I study the Word and pray together. Being away from home challenges us, but during these difficult times we have to draw close to God. It's during difficult times that God brings me closer to Himself. We have a Christ-centered relationship, and we make every effort to put everything before the Lord and ask for His wisdom and guidance.
Fighting and overcoming adversity is No. 1. If my baseball career were to end tomorrow, I'd still have a lot of meaning left in my life. I can do a lot of things for the glory of God.
