"What I think I'm expected to do is to give 100 percent effort, play like it's my last game, and enjoy every second of it. People need to see the joy in their occupations. God cares about what I do with what he's given me, and what he's given me is a platform.

Pressure is the fear of failure. Both as a major league player and as a follower of Jesus, I realize I'm going to fail sometimes. But I can strike out in a tough situations knowing I'm going to have another chance to come up to the plate again. It's the same in the Christian life.

I don't want to fail, and it's certainly not my goal, but since giving my life to Jesus I understand that those failures are no longer counted against me. By God's grace I'm forgiven, and by God's grace I'm given power to continue. The Bible is the unquestionable, perfect word of God. God speaks through it to me. It's my guideline to life, and it tells all about how to deal with pressure.
